TĒ MĀNGŌROA is a short comic about the origin of the milky way according to the Māori of Aotearoa or New Zealand, featuring the Polynesian trickster god Māui.
As an Irish cartoonist, I made this in post-colonial solidarity with the people of Aotearoa. Mythology is a preservative form of storytelling, and contains collective memory, culture and history.
